Abstract

This paper discusses the dynamics of relative prices since 1985 comparing the performance during the inflationary accelerations and disinflations, both orthodox and heterodox. It is postulated that in 1988 there was a «change of regime, (is a regime of high inflation and not hyperinflation) and there was another change of regimen 1990. This one would be a regime of transition because the present structure of relative prices is unsustainable. The expected-outcomes depend on the policies adopted. If the present economic policy persist it is postulated that the program will collapse and that hyperinflation will be present, both with high probability.
