Abstract

ABSTRACT Research on the development impact of rurall tourism to sosial-culture is a kind of descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted in Nglanggeran Village Yogakarta. The survei results revealed that the rural tourism development activities undertaken by the Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Nglanggeran considered quite good, the indicator is the average increase in tourist arrivals sizeable year-on-year with the characteristics of travelers are very diverse. The readiness of lokal communities in terms of aspects of education, knowledge, involvement of lokal communities in the development shows that the majority of society has been sufficiently prepared to deal with potential impacts that arise. The growth of tourism which generates high frequency level of interaction between lokal communities and tourists, which is an average of more than 5 times the interaction in every 3 months. In this study also note that developing the Nglanggeran Tourism Village has many different effects. With a good community preparedness, the negative impact of Tourism Village development can be minimized.
