Abstract

Abstrak.Tulisan ini akan membahas tetang mekanisme penawaran umum perdana/initial public offering (IPO) untuk perusahaan startup di Indonesia, dengan objek kasus PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa Go-Jek yang berencana untuk melakukan penawaran umum perdana dalam waktu dekat. Pembahasan dalam tulisan ini akan menekankan perusahaan startup dan perbandingannya dengan penawaran umum perdana yang dilakukan oleh satu perusahaan biasa (PT Jasa Armada Indonesia, Tbk) dan satu perusahaan startup (PT Kioson Komersial Indonesia, Tbk) di Indonesia pada tahun 2017. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa secara umum, peraturan perusahaan publik dan mengatur penawaran umum perdana dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1995 tentang Pasar Modal serta peraturan terkait lainnya cukup untuk memenuhi persyaratan persyaratan go public untuk perusahaan biasa. Tetapi dengan dimulainya perkembangan perusahaan startup di Indonesia saat ini, terutama dengan PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (Go-Jek) berencana untuk melakukan penawaran umum perdana mendorong pemerintah untuk segera melakukan penyesuaian terhadap aturan proses penawaran umum perdana sehingga bahwa pengaturan tersebut tidak hanya akan menjangkau perusahaan-perusahaan biasa yang notabene adalah perusahaan yang lebih besar, tetapi juga dapat menjangkau perusahaan-perusahaan pemula pada tingkat awal yang memainkan peran penting dalam pengembangan ekonomi nasional.
