Menilik Kembali Awal Mula Sejarah Pemikiran Ekonomi Islam pada Masa Abu Ubaid

Abstract

Sebagai peta kehidupan manusia, konsep ekonomi Islam sudah ada semenjak kehadiran agama Islam ke dunia. Al Qur’an dan Hadist kaya akan hukumhukum dan pengarahan kebijakan ekonomi yang harus diambil dan disesuaikan dengan perubahan zaman dan perbedaan kawasan regional. Artikel ini mencoba mengungkap relevansi pemikiran ekonomi Abu Ubaid dalam tatanan perekonomian Indonesia yang dapat dilihat dalam karyanya yang monumental berjudul Kitab al-Amwal. Konsep keadilan menjadi prinsip dasar ekonomi yang digaungkannya menjadi sebuah landasan filosofis yang kuat dalam membangun fondasi pemikiran ekonomi. Artikel ini membandingkan pandangan Abu ‘Ubaid Al-Qasim dan Adam Smith berkaitan dengan perdagangan internasional. Abu ‘Ubaid Al-Qasim berpandangan bahwa intervensi pemerintah dalam perdagangan internasional sangat dibutuhkan untuk memastikan hukum-hukum dalam Al-Qur’an dan Sunnah dijalankan. Sedangkan menurut Adam Smith, peran pemerintah dalam konsep ekspor dan impor di dalam perdagangan internasional harus diminimalisir bahkan sampai pada posisi tidak diperlukan.
