Abstract

Lembaga Pemuliaan Lingkungan Hidup dan Sumber Daya Alam Majelis Ulama Indonesia dan Pusat Studi Islam Universitas Nasional Jakarta melaksanakan kegiatan “Edukasi Gambut untuk Kelompok Agama dan Masyarakat”. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas Da’i/Imam Masjid/Khatib dalam kaitannya dengan restorasi gambut di daerahnya masing-masing. Islam mengharamkan perbuatan pembakaran lahan dan hutan yang menimbulkan kemudharatan, termasuk perbuatan memfasilitasi, membiarkan dan mengambil keuntungan atasnya. Peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan peran ulama serta masyarakat yang mayoritas muslim dalam peningkatan kepedulian dan aksi pelestarian lahan gambut masyarakat.
