Abstract

Theranos merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang medis atau kesehatan terbesar di Amerika Serikat yang didirikan pada tahun 2003. Theranos didirikan oleh Elizabeth Holmes, seorang mahasiswa Stanford University. Diawali dengan idenya yang disampaikan kepada seorang profesor, Channing Robertson. Produk yang diciptakan oleh Theranos berupa penutup lengan atau sarung tangan yang dapat mengambil setetes sampel darah untuk memeriksa adanya penyakit menular. Selama beberapa tahun, Theranos selalu mengalami kemajuan hingga akhirnya suatu hal terjadi dimana sang CEO ketahuan melakukan penipuan. Hal ini menyebabkan Theranos mengalami kejatuhan hingga terpaksa harus menutup beberapa lab dan memberhentikan lebih dari 40% karyawannya.
