EFEKTIVITAS BIOCHARCOAL DAN Rhizobium TERHADAP NODULASI Mucuna bracteata ASAL BIJI DAN STEK

Abstract

Penanaman kacangan penutup tanah merupakan tindakan agronomis yang diterapkan di perkebunan besar[1] dan [2]. Keuntungannya adalah memperbaiki struktur tanah, menambah bahan organik, mengurangi erosi, memfiksasi Nitrogen dan mengurangi pertumbuhan gulma. Jenis kacangan yang saat ini ditanam adalah Mucuna bracteata (MB). MB tumbuh cepat, memfiksasi N yang tinggi, toleran terhadap naungan, dan tidak disukai oleh ternak ruminansia. MB dapat ditanam secara generatif maupun vegetatif [5]. Penambatan N secara simbiosis dengan Rhizobium sp. Diperlukan kondisi yang baik sehingga pertumbuhan dan penambatan N berlangsung secara baik. Media tumbuh berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas nodulasi. Salah satu bahan pembenah tanah yang digunakan adalah biocharcoal. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas biocharcoal sekam padi dan Rhizobium terhadap pertumbuhan bintil akar. Penelitian dilaksanakan di STIPAP pada April-Juli 2017. Perlakuan terdiri 3 faktor yaitu bahan tanam Biji (B1) dan Stek (B2); media tanam 4 taraf campuran tanah dan biocharcoal (persentase tanah 100%, 90%, 80%, dan 70%); Rhizobium 2 taraf I1 dan I2¬. Panjang sulur per hari adalah 2,8 cm pada B1 dan 3,1 cm pada B2. Media biocharcoal meningkatkan panjang sulur 119% pada M1 dan 146% pada M2. Rata-rata bintil akar pada B1 yaitu 58,29 dan B2 37,37 (64%). Perlakuan media meningkatkan jumlah bintil akar. Kadar N daun seluruh perlakuan termasuk kategori tinggi. Perlakuan terbaik adalah M2I2B1 dan M2I2B2
