Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dampak dari tingkat pengangguran, pendapatan perkapita dalam mempengaruhi indeks pembangunan manusia di Sumatera Utara. Tingkat pengangguran yang tinggi sangat menghambat laju pembangunan manusia di Sumatera Utara. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder dan data tersebut berupa data time series yang di interpolasi menjadi data kuartal dari tahun 2010-2015. Variabel yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini adalah tingkat penganguran, pendapatan per kapita sebagai variabel independen dan indeks pembangunan manusia sebagai variabel dependen. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signnifikan antara tingkat pengangguran dan pendapatan perkapita terhadap indeks pembangunan manusia, yang di lihat melalui R—Square sebesar 66,3% . Dengan menurunnya tingkat pengangguran dan bertambahnya pendapatan perkapita dapat mendorong laju IPM ketingkat lebih tinggi
