KERITING RAMBUT AKU PAPUA (Fenomena Smoothing/Rebonding Anak-Anak Papua dalam Perspektif Global)

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bahwa terjadi hegemoni budaya terhadap gaya hidup anak-anka Papua. Artikel ini ngenggunakan teori hegemoni dan konsep gaya hidup oleh Perre Bourdiue sebagai kekuataan analisis. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Ada temuan dalam artikel ini bahwa memang terjadi pengaruh yang sangat hebat sehingga perubahan gaya hidup sudah menjadi fashion anak-anak Papua, meluruskan rambut (smoothing/ribonding) adalah fashion anak muda tetapi benturan dengan identitas sebagai anak-anak Papua (melenesia). Hal lain menujukan bahwa fenomena smoothing/ribonding ini menghantarkan pada budaya barat yang tidak sadar menciptakan turbulensi indentitas (orisinalitas tubuh). Kerinduan besar dari kalangan anak-anak Papua adalah kriting rambut/ “borkoli”.
