Distribusi dan Kepadatan Teripang Di Perairan Natal

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di perairan pantai Natal pada bulan April-Juli 2017. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pola sebaran (distribusi) dan kepadatan populasi teripang di perairan Natal. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode observasi langsung yang dilakukan pada waktu air laut surut agar tidak terkendala dengan arus dan gelombang untuk mempermudah pengambilan sampel tumbuhan lamun. Kuadran pengamatan dengan transek kuadrat 1 x 1 m2. Titik awal peletakan transek dari garis pantai sejauh 5 m kerah laut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga spesies teripang hidup di perairan Natal yaitu Holothuria atra, Holothuria leucospilota, Holothuria scabra. H.atra merupakan spesies dengan kepadatan tertinggi sebesar 2 ind/m2, dan H.scabra merupakan spesies dengan kepadatan terendah sebesar 1,1 ind/m2. Terdapat kesamaan pola sebaran (distribusi) pada stasiun 1,2,dan 4 dengan pola sebaran seragam, sedangkan pada stasiun 3 teripang ditemukan dengan pola sebaran bergerombol/mengelompok
