Abstract

La nouvelle École nationale irlandaise de navigation (National Maritime College) est considérée comme la plus intéressante et la plus innovante réalisation du pays dans le domaine de la formation et de l’éducation maritime et le premier établissement d’enseignement tertiaire à être construit et exploité sous le régime du modèle d’approvisionnement en « partenariat public-privé » (PPP) du gouvernement. Le projet est issu d’un partenariat entre l’Institut de technologie de Cork (Cork Institute of Technology) et la Marine nationale irlandaise (Irish Naval Service) pour la formation maritime. L’agencement de l’école rappelle que l’enseignement dispensé concerne la mer, tandis que ses installations lui permettent de répondre aux dernières exigences en matière d’éducation dans ce domaine. L’école de Ringaskiddy (Comté de Cork) a ouvert ses portes le 11 octobre 2004.
