La forma plural de la franquicia española: Estructura y evolución

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la organización de las cadenas de franquicia españolas utilizando un panel de empresas para el periodo 1996-2002. Nuestros resultados muestran que la propensión a franquiciar es mayor cuanto más importantes son los costes de control y de falta de esfuerzo del responsable y más habitual es la clientela. Sin embargo, no hemos podido contrastar la importancia del esfuerzo del franquiciador. Por otra parte, también hemos contrastado que, a largo plazo, el porcentaje de uso de la franquicia crece inicialmente a medida que aumenta la experiencia de la cadena, para posteriormente estabilizarse en torno al 70%, porcentaje inferior a EEUU o Francia. Esto parece indicar el elevado potencial de desarrollo de la franquicia en España.
