Pobreza y desigualdad en Mar del Plata

Abstract

El análisis y medición de la pobreza es una cuestión compleja que tiene varias vías de interpretación. En un sintético esquema se presentan las formas más usuales de afrontar esta temática y se intenta dar cuenta de cuál es la situación en Mar del Plata utilizando una combinación de métodos que aportan no sólo una cuantificación del problema sino que advierten sobre la oscura realidad que tiene a muchos hogares marplatense. Estos nuevos pobres hoy afrontan con pocas estrategias un presente de vulnerabilidad social caracterizado por la concentración de ingresos, situación que amenaza en convertir la transitoriedad coyuntural en un indeseado futuro de permanencia.
