Impacto de la pandemia por COVID-19. Análisis de sentimientos de los trabajadores en turismo, Ushuaia, Argentina

Abstract

El COVID-19 generó importantes consecuencias económicas y sociales en múltiples actividades, entre ellas, la del turismo. Se ha tomado como destino de estudio a Ushuaia dadas sus características de ciudad turística, buscando responder los siguientes interrogantes: ¿qué sentimientos generó en los y las guías y choferes de turismo las consecuencias socio-económicas de la pandemia?, ¿cuál es la evaluación sobre el futuro del turismo desde el punto de vista personal y afectivo de estos trabajadores? Se aplicó una metodología cualitativa basada en entrevistas en profundidad a trabajadores de turismo que fueron analizadas mediante el software Atlas.ti 9. Los sentimientos negativos se posicionaron como principales exponentes del impacto socioeconómico generado por la pandemia, aunque la mayoría expresó que pudieron sobrellevar la situación. En ambos grupos hay una mirada positiva y expectativas sobre su reactivación, si bien reconocen que no será de manera inmediata. Estas aproximaciones reflejan la relación que tienen los trabajadores en turismo con esta actividad, su vínculo y su vocación. Se confirma el impacto de la pandemia en el sector y queda evidenciada su alta vulnerabilidad. Se destaca que es una actividad que genera sentimientos principalmente positivos y que es elegida más allá de las dificultades que pueda presentar.
