No es una juventud... ¡son juventudes!

Abstract

Hablar de los jóvenes nos remite a considerar algunos problemas recurrentes que los involucran desde hace largo tiempo, vinculados con la educación y el trabajo. Elevados niveles de desempleo que los afectan; situaciones de precariedad laboral en las que se hallan inmersos; credenciales educativas insuficientes o de valor relativo a la hora de encontrar un trabajo remunerado; relación de intermitencia escolar y en el extremo de desenganche que establecen con la educación formal entre otros. Pero hablar de los jóvenes es más que esto, es por sobre todas las cosas reconocer que el universo juvenil, en este tiempo y en este lugar, no es una totalidad compacta ni homogénea. Por el contrario, el universo de los jóvenes se caracteriza por la heterogeneidad, por la diversidad y por la desigualdad: no hay una juventud dice la literatura académica sino en todo caso "juventudes" que se expresan en condiciones, prácticas y visiones diversas.
