La importancia de la especificidad territorial en la construcción de indicadores locales

Abstract

Los indicadores son la herramienta primordial con la que la economía descriptiva estudia los procesos económicos, los cuales tienen como objeto evaluar el "estado de las cosas", cualquiera que fuera el alcance espacial que pretendan analizar. Teniendo en cuenta, que en el ámbito local el territorio no es siempre uniforme, el reconocerlo permitiría una mejor caracterización de la realidad local. Esto repercute directamente en una "crítica" a la interpretación de los indicadores. El objetivo de este artículo es realizar una crítica de los indicadores genéricos, aportando como resultado lineamientos para la elección y construcción de indicadores locales. En tal sentido, para que los indicadores de la realidad local sean atinados deben indagar sobre las necesidades locales, y no siempre guiarse por la facilidad de recabar el dato.
