Abstract

This report offers a comprehensive picture of the lighting industry in India, providing trends in lighting fixtures production and consumption, imports and exports. Data on the supply structure, reference prices and distribution channels in the Indian lighting industry are also provided, as well as sales data, market shares and short company profiles of the major Indian lighting fixtures companies. The Indian production of lighting fixtures is broken down by segment (residential, lighting, commercial lighting, industrial lighting, outdoor lighting), by light source (incandescence, fluorescence, gas discharge, LED, fiber optics). A breakdown of the Indian lighting fixtures imports and exports is provided by lighting segment, by country and by geographical area. Data on employment, trends of the building industry, as well as figures on population and disposable income in India are also included. Reference prices are given for the main lighting products, including features and retailer. Main Indian lighting fixtures magazines, exhibitions and trade associations are mentioned. An overview of the competitive system is outlined, with data on sales and lighting market shares for the major lighting companies (both Indian and foreign) in each segment. Short company profiles are given for the main companies operating in the Indian market. A list of around 150 addresses of lighting fixtures manufacturers (both Indian and foreign) mentioned in the report can be found in the appendix as well as a list of more than 150 leading architects and designers.
