Among the European (17) countries the United Kingdom is the second largest home furniture consumer (behind Germany). With a volume of consumption at retail prices of Euro 19 billion, it claims a 17.4% share of total European home furniture demand. Furniture retail in the United Kingdom is driven by specialist retailers. If compared to the other European countries, British furniture distribution is the one with the highest share of non-specialist retailers (the EU average is 14%). The study of the home furniture distribution system in the UK includes short profiles of major home furniture distributors with analyses of sales performances and retail formats (bedroom specialists, department stores, DIY, kitchen and bathroom specialists, large-scale furniture specialists, specialists in RTA furniture/jeune habitat, upholstery specialists). Analysis of home furniture imports by segment (Upholstered furniture, Kitchen furniture, Dining and living room furniture, Bedroom furniture) and by country.
