Furniture distribution in Finland

Author

Abstract

Among Western Europe, Finland is the thirteenth country, providing about 2% of the WE home furniture demand. Central Eastern European countries (in particular Poland) are increasing fast and gaining market shares at the expenses of Asian suppliers. Estonia is the second top supplier. Finland is the second country in Europe in terms of importance of non-specialist retailers in the furniture sector, after the United Kingdom. In the specialist organised distribution, with the exception of the Swedish IKEA and the Danish Jysk, the leading operators in Finland are local companies. Stemma is the main buying group. The report provides trends in home furniture consumption, analysis of the furniture distribution system by channel, retail formats and sales performances of top retailing companies operating in Finland.
