Concurrence bancaire et taille des conventions de services

Abstract

Nous proposons un modèle de concurrence bancaire qui prend en compte la taille des conventions de services comme variable stratégique. Le nombre de produits inclus dans les conventions de services bancaires (CSB) réduit les coûts de commercialisation de la banque, via une augmentation des coûts de changement, mais augmente les coûts fixes que doit supporter la banque. Nous montrons qu'à l'équilibre les banques choisissent le nombre économiquement efficace de produits. La taille de la convention diminue avec le nombre de banques sur le marché. Nous concluons qu'il n'est pas nécessaire dans tous les cas d'intervenir réglementairement pour limiter la taille des conventions de services bancaires.
