Abstract

The main purpose of the present study is to give an overview of some key agricultural policies and policy mechanisms used by both the E.U. and the U.S. to support their domestic agriculture. The analysis is preceded by a brief overview of agricultural sectors of the E.U and the U.S. and presented in the context of historical backgrounds of each of the country’s agricultural policies. Additionally, a brief discussion of Spanish agriculture as it relates to the E.U. is presented.
