Comparando Medidas de Produtividade: DEA, Fronteira de Produção Estocástica

Abstract

Os modelos análise envoltória de dados (DEA) e fronteira de produção estocástica (SF) obtêmestimativas da produtividade utilizando abordagens complementares, o que dificulta acomparabilidade entre eles, particularmente quando se admite uma componente estocástica nosdados. Propomos: a) um critério de avaliação para a estimativa da produtividade obtida porcada modelo ? índice de erro de classificação (IEC); b) uma abordagem empírica da simulaçãopara comparar esses modelos; e c) uma versão bayesiana para o modelo SF que permite derivaro valor esperado do posto da produtividade. Os resultados mostram que maiores IECs ? resultados piores ? estão relacionados com:a) retornos variáveis de escala quando o DEA é utilizado; b) pequenas amostras (n
