The issues of fatigue and working time in the road transport sector

Abstract

Reviews definitions of fatigue, with a view to relationships with accidents. Discusses legislative measures intending to limit fatigue through regulating working time and enforcing control devices such as digital tachographs or camera monitoring systems. Summarizes initiatives undertaken by governments, employers, and workers in various countries, including workshops, medical examinations, etc.
