Abstract

Based on surveys of 300 micro and small-scale enterprises (MSEs) and 20 business development service (BDS) providers in Thailand and Viet Nam. Examines the types of services provided and identifies different methods of service provision: purchased services, services provided on a commission basis and services provided through business relationships or through informal networks. Shows how donors can expand and enhance these service channels.
