Author

  • Barme, Catherine.

Abstract

This report gives a broad, though not exhaustive outline of the conditions of work of homeworkers in the TCF industries, highlighting their problems. It describes the role and importance of home work in these industries within the context of recent globalization trends and brings out the extreme vulnerability of homeworkers. It also reviews past and present work in the field of home work, the aim being not to eliminate this form of employment, but rather to promote equality of treatment and improve working conditions for homeworkers
