Actors and the international audovisual production industries

Abstract

Explores the changing status of actors within an increasingly internationalized film and television industry. Discusses the implications of these changes for the activities of performers' trade unions and associations, focusing on job searching and the casting process, contracting practices and collective agreements and work permits for actors working abroad. Makes recommendations for the future of actors' unions in international audiovisual production.
