Abstract

Discusses the adoption and implementation of ethical codes in the textile, clothing and footwear industries. Looks at the role of non- governmental organizations in the promotion of codes of conduct (e.g. labelling campaigns), the components of a standard code of conduct and the provisions of the codes of conduct of Levi Strauss, Sara Lee, Phillips-van Heusen, The Gap, Nike, Reebok and some major retail networks.
