Health care personnel in central and Eastern Europe : based on a study prepared for the ILO

Abstract

The paper summarizes information on health staffing trends in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and provides some comparisons with Western countries, especiially in the European Union. It looks at the broad economic, social and political background to the present situation, with reference to labour market conditions and the health status of the people in the region.
