Abstract

Working paper comprising a literature survey on the impact of rural area road construction on poverty alleviation in developing countries - examines theoretical principles, and reviews studies and empirical evidence on the impact of road investments and road transport on economic and social development, rural income, income distribution and access to education, health services and other social services.
