Abstract

ILO pub-wep pub. Working paper investigating the nature, extent and role of remittances sent by internal migration migrants in the urban area of ludhiana, punjab, India to remaining family members in and out of state - examines influence of distance and occupational status in remittance decision making, variables affecting the size of income sent back, effects on household income distribution and main consumption uses of the capital. References and statistical tables.
