Abstract

Working paper on technological linkages (technology transfer) between formal and informal sectors of manufacturing industries - includes a literature survey of historical aspects of linkages in Japan and present day trends in developing countries, and discusses the role of subcontracting, apprenticeship, cooperatives, etc. Bibliography pp. 120 to 129, references and statistical tables.
