Abstract

"Job centers in Germany support benefit recipients in diverse personal circumstances and with varying obstacles to employment. Different groups of benefit recipients include parents caring for young children, people with health impairments, those caring for elders, as well as people lacking vocational qualifications. This study addresses questions concerning the extent to which different groups of benefit recipients are required to search for a job, to what extent they receive job counseling, and how benefit recipients evaluate their job center contacts."
