Abstract

"In Germany, low-income regions are supported by various compensation mechanisms. We analyse the regional redistribution effects of the federal unemployment insurance budget between the 16 German states from 2005 to 2016 and compare the results with the German inter-state fiscal adjustment ('Länderfinanzausgleich')."
