Abstract

"The main target of the project 'Further Training as a Part of Lifelong Learning' (Berufliche Weiterbildung als Bestandteil Lebenslangen Lernens - WeLL) is to establish a linked employer-employee data set with the particular focus on continuous training that contains information on training investments of employers and employees. In the first instance the employers were interviewed. Afterwards their employees were surveyed concerning their training activities. This employee survey was designed as panel study conducted in 2007, 2008, 2009. This information is necessary to gain insights into the development of individual training investment in the course of time and differentiating short-run and medium-run training returns. The report contains information on data collection, data editing, anonymisation, data access and first of all the description of the variables of the first, second and third wave."
