Luhmann og skriften

Abstract

Hos Luhmann spiller skriften en vigtig rolle. Dels fordi han var ekstremt skrivende og havde sin lyst og last i ord, som kom let til ham og som endda havde farver, når han læste. Dels fordi skriften var et vigtigt led både i hans analyse af, hvordan sociale systemer stabiliserer sig, og i hans komplicerede redegørelse for, hvordan psykiske og sociale systemer er koblet strukturelt til hinanden. Når Luhmann talte om skrift, var det altid det som Derrida kaldte for "det vulgære skriftbegreb", 2 altså skrevne ord. Behandlingen af det, som Derrida kalder for "arkeskriften" sker hos Luhmann med en anden terminologi, som handler om forskel og form. Vi skal først følge Luhmanns behandling af skriften i gængs forstand. Det vil ske under tre overskrifter, først skriften, dernæst bevægelsen fra den orale kultur til skriftkulturen, og endelig koblingen mellem psykiske og sociale systemer. Til slut vil jeg komme ind på den distinktions-teori, som Luhmann har til fælles med Derrida og som hos Derrida rummer en tese om arke-skriften, hos Luhmann en tese om form.
