Du chantier naval à la ville : la mémoire ouvrière de Port-de-Bouc

Abstract

Port de Bouc se construit au début du XXème siècle autour des Chantiers et Ateliers de Provence (CAP) spécialisés dans la construction de paquebots et de cargos. Ce chantier fermera en 1966 laissant dernière lui une identité ouvrière très forte. Cette recherche est issue d'une initiative de l'Office culturel municipal Centre Elsa Triolet qui démarrait dans les années 80 une opération de recueil de la mémoire ouvrière de Port de Bouc. Les auteurs de ce rapport se sont appuyés sur une importante documentation produite avant cette recherche ou collectés par eux dans le cadre de cette recherche (compte-rendus de presse, réunions...), des documents matériels (objets, instruments, lieux...), des photographies, des films, des interviews d'ouvriers, de photographies. Ce travail a donné lieu à un film de 42 mn, réalisé par Roger Cornu intitulé "On les appelait des sauvages" .
