Abstract

The assessment of workers' medical fitness is a crucial step in managing health and safety in the workplace. However, it is often subject to criticism regarding its empirical and subjective nature. In this article, we explore the transition from a largely empirical approach to a more objective method based on task evaluation, fitness criteria, and decision-making processes. We propose a simplified approach focused on the use of a task evaluation grid, aiming to better structure the debate around occupational risk prevention and promote worker health by providing accurate and accessible information.
