Abstract

Technical expertise report whose mission is to justify the assets of the metropolis of Toulouse to organize a cultural, scientific and commercial event: a thematic Forum for the Grand Paris 2025 universal exhibition. The tourist promotion of French regional metropolises is considered globally. As for Toulouse, capital of aeronautics, space and innovation, it justifies by its geohistory and its attractiveness in the industrial field its participation in the 2025 Grand Paris universal exhibition and its application file . We bring new elements to the economy and the industrial and scientific fabric of the capital of Occitania for the service of legitimizing a universal exhibition and sustainable business tourism (events – MICE). From a global urban history to a local urban history, justification and motivations for an exceptional event in Toulouse. Geohistory of international and universal exhibitions. Preamble on the motivations of the territory, possible historical elements linked to the major universal exhibitions of the 19th and 20th centuries to make the link and the rapprochement with the 2025 project. Understanding of the general theme of the French candidacy: knowledge to share, the planet to protect.
