Abstract

Depuis quarante ans, des chercheures mobilisent la notion du care pour repenser notre rapport au monde en contexte vulnérable. La politologue états-unienne Joan Tronto et sa collègue Berenice Fischer définissent le care comme « une activité générique qui comprend tout ce que nous faisons pour maintenir, perpétuer et réparer notre "monde", en sorte que nous puissions y vivre aussi bien que possible » (1991, p.40). Il désigne le souci porté à la vie qui engage les êtres humains dans des actions qui les relient les uns aux autres et structurent leur quotidien. Le care réfute la rationalité abstraite promue dans les sociétés occidentales pour mettre en valeur le sensible, les actes de soin fondés sur l'expérience et les relations humaines singulières.
