Abstract

Les Françaises conjuguent un haut niveau d'emploi et une fécondité enviée par beaucoup. Mais les moyennes nationales cachent en réalité une situation dégradée. Leur taux d'activité est toujours inférieur à celui des hommes, leurs emplois de moindre qualité, leurs rémunérations plus faibles, leur temps de travail plus réduit, et elles restent en charge de l'essentiel des tâches domestiques et familiales. Il y a là non seulement une évidente injustice, mais aussi une lourde hypothèque sur notre avenir collectif. Plus de femmes en emploi, ce serait moins de pauvreté, des comptes sociaux plus équilibrés et des investissements d'éducation enfin valorisés. Ce livre propose d'examiner les conditions d'organisation économique et sociale susceptibles de donner aux femmes les moyens de leur liberté. Il dessine ainsi un " deuxième âge de l'émancipation ", profitable à l'ensemble de la société. [Présentation de l'éditeur]
