Abstract

La mémoire des crises financières est une curieuse chose. L'hyperinflation allemande de 1923 ou le Krach boursier de 1929 restent des références connues de tous et on peut parier qu'il en ira de même, longtemps encore, avec la crise de 2008. Inversement, la crise d'endettement de nombreux pays en développement dans les années 1980, semble prise dans un angle mort, tant pour le grand public que pour les chercheurs. . Jérôme Sgard, professeur d'économie politique et chercheur au CERI, en a repris l'histoire à partir des nombreuses archives désormais ouvertes et en interrogeant ses principaux acteurs.
