L'Indicateur Euro Croissance délivre des signaux tangibles de reprise

Abstract

La première évaluation d'Eurostat pour le quatrième trimestre 2001 fait état d'un recul du PIB de la zone-euro de 0,2 %. Une évaluation aussi négative n'avait pas été anticipée par l'indicateur, qui laissait plutôt envisager une stagnation du PIB. En glissement annuel, la croissance reste positive, 0,6 % selon Eurostat, 0,9 % selon l'indicateur (tableau). Toutefois, l'écart constaté reste acceptable puisque l'erreur moyenne de l'équation économétrique utilisée pour ajuster la croissance en glissement annuel s'élève à 0,24 %. En outre, il peut être malaisé de retracer économétriquement les répercussions d'évènements exogènes tels que les attentats du 11 septembre aux États-Unis (...).
