Abstract

Selon le Président brésilien sortant, Luis Inácio Da Silva, le Brésil a été le dernier pays à avoir été touché par la crise économique mondiale, et sera le premier à en sortir avec un taux de croissance du PIB de 7% prévu pour 2010. La nouvelle Présidente, Dilma Rousseff, bénéficie donc a priori d un contexte favorable qui devrait lui permettre une réalisation sans grandes difficultés de son programme politique et économique. Afin de mieux comprendre le cheminement économique suivi par le Brésil jusqu'à aujourd'hui, cet ouvrage rappellera d abord ses origines historiques, puis expliquera comment il s'est transformé en une grande puissance industrielle, de quelle manière ses politiques économiques lui ont permis de surmonter les crises, et pourquoi il est devenu une puissance agricole. Abordant également la question de l évolution de sa dépendance économique extérieure, l'ouvrage expose les grands défis auxquels devra se confronter l économie brésilienne.
