100ème EcoDef : où en est-on en économie de la défense ?

Abstract

Le champ de l'économie de défense est vaste, comme en témoigne la multitude des thèmes abordés dans le double volume de référence Handbook of Defense Economics : conflits, terrorisme, course à l'armement, alliances militaires, marchés de défense, croissance économique, dépenses publiques de défense, commerce, etc. Le bulletin Ecodef reflète une partie de ce champ. Il rend compte de l'expertise des économistes de l'observatoire économique de la défense (OED) au profit du ministère des Armées. Il présente l'avantage de regarder des thèmes d'intérêt sur longue période (le bulletin Ecodef existe depuis 1999) et témoigne des évolutions aussi bien dans l'approche scientifique des questions abordées que dans les résultats obtenus. Parmi les thèmes abordés par les 99 précédents Ecodef, quatre apparaissent centraux et récurrents : la base industrielle et technologique de défense, l'innovation technologique militaire, la place de la défense nationale dans les régions et l'analyse des dépenses publiques de défense.
