Abstract

Le 5 août dernier, le quotidien Ouest-France consacrait une page entière au ferroviaire sous un titre accrocheur : « Trains quasi gratuits : pourquoi pas en France ? » La question était légitime à la suite du succès du billet mensuel à 9 € en Allemagne et à l'expérience espagnole de gratuité des trains régionaux annoncée pour septembre. De telles annonces n'ont pas surpris le lecteur de cette revue. Dans les numéros TI&M n° 507 et n° 5101, nous l'avions pressenti : l'idée de gratuité des transports collectifs (TC) est très contagieuse et la « marche vers la gratuité » a un caractère irréversible que la pandémie a accentué.
