Abstract

In order to shed light on the way in which validation of experience can accompany a professional reconversion trajectory towards the social and solidarity economy, the authors present the results of an analysis of a system co-constructed by a large mutual insurance company and a university (Le Mans) to support employees of the French national education system who decide to embark on a mutualist career. The results, based in particular on two series of interviews conducted with trainees who had taken part in the scheme, show that vae is a real lever for legitimacy when taking up a post, but also a professional asset for the rest of the career.
