Abstract

Les reconversions professionnelles radicales d'anciens cadres hautement qualifiés suscitent un véritable engouement médiatique, mais n'ont pas fait l'objet d'une analyse sociologique approfondie. Cet article vise une compréhension de ces trajectoires a priori improbables, en s'appuyant sur l'observation de 14 cas emblématiques de reconversions radicales de diplômés de grandes écoles de management. Si ces reconversions peuvent s'apparenter à de véritables ruptures biographiques et sont mises en récit dans une opposition plus ou moins intense entre le passé et le présent, on observe pourtant des continuités. Ainsi, la reconversion réactive certaines dispositions intériorisées lors de la socialisation en grande école de management, démontrant finalement une certaine cohérence sociologique.
