Abstract

La formation professionnelle initiale française a connu un processus de scolarisation à partir du milieu du XXe siècle, sous l'influence du modèle de la forme scolaire. La présente étude analyse le cas d'une initiative du secteur privé, encore trop peu connue, apparue à la fin du XIXe siècle et désormais en expansion sur le territoire français : les écoles de production. En pratiquant un apprentissage en école, mais en condition de production réelle, elles rompent avec la forme scolaire de la formation professionnelle. L'enquête montre cependant qu'elles s'inscrivent dans le paysage institutionnel via la préparation des diplômes nationaux.
