Albion W. Small et la démocratie dans l’entreprise

Abstract

Ce chapitre montre en quoi la pensée de Small est heuristique pour investiguer la question de la démocratie en entreprise. Il est organisé comme suit : dans une première partie, nous insistons sur certains préalables relatifs à la vie (notamment intellectuelle) de Small, essentiels à notre sens pour saisir sa conception globale en sciences sociales. Dans une deuxième partie, nous nous centrons plus spécifiquement sur son traitement de la question de la démocratie dans l'entreprise, l'ayant amené à formuler des propositions originales pour améliorer sa concrétisation durable. Enfin, la troisième partie établit un lien entre la vision micro-économique et microsociologique de l'entreprise de Small présentée en deuxième partie, et les caractéristiques globales de la société capitaliste. En effet, c'est dans l'articulation entre les deux dimensions que se joue fondamentalement la démocratie dans l'entreprise.
