Abstract

Cet article examine l'évolution des fonctions assumées par les maisons familiales rurales d'éducation et d'orientation, sous l'effet de la seconde vague de la massification scolaire. à travers l'étude des transformations des agents d'encadrement – les moniteurs et les monitrices – et de leurs représentations des fonctions, il montre comment cette institution dispensant des formations en alternance est devenue un lieu de remédiation scolaire. Avec le tarissement de la population agricole et l'arrivée croissante d'élèves ayant connu des difficultés dans l'enseignement secondaire, ses finalités se sont renouvelées.
